ABOUT US

“Bulgarian Association for Personal Alternative” is an organization in public benefit, registered under the Act for non profit legal entities of 2004.

The Association emerged as part of the project “Integration of people with disabilities in social life by providing them employment”, funded under the “Small schemes” from the World Bank. The project was initiated by a group of young people united by the idea to help the integration of people of unequal social status and promote general human values.

The experience accumulated during participation in various national and international projects in education, employment and environment, give us high confidence and belief that the efforts made by us will not be in vain and will help create democratic civil society without social divisions. We believe that the will for change is expressed truly only by undertaking concrete actions in the name and for the people of Bulgaria.

Why are we “Bulgarian Association for Personal Alternative”?

1. Bulgarian - because the association unites only Bulgarian citizens and it is intended to support Bulgarian people!
2. Association – because by teaming up we get stronger!
3. Personal alternative - because we believe that specific knowledge and experience would help those who our society more or less forgot.

The main aspects of “Bulgarian Association for Personal Alternative’s” work are:

1. To support integration of people with disabilities in public life.
2. To promote democratic practices and development of the civil society.
3. To contribute and work to implement a permanent contact and cooperation between government institutions.
4. Work to protect the rights of children and young people.
5. To organize and participate in programs related to conservation of nature and environment.

Our efforts are aimed at young people in Bulgaria who have the personal qualities and desire to transform themselves into a leading force for the formation of a civil society. These are the people who will pass on the torch and successfully complete the integration of Bulgaria into the European family and to prove once again the uniqueness of our nation.

Let us prove that there is a long forgotten quality in Bulgaria, namely tolerance and desire to help.
